About Me: Jeff Weissman - A Network Marketing Success Story

That's me hanging out at beautiful Jones Beach on Long Island's south shore. I  get to do that a lot these days (when it's warm enough).  A few years ago I was like many other Long Islanders...fighting the traffic to get to work in the morning, and then back home at night.

I worked very long hours as an attorney.  Frankly, I wasn't happy.  You see, I'd always enjoyed my free time...but had very little of it.  I have a wife, Alane, and two of the cutest little girls you'll ever see, but I rarely got to be with them.

Several years ago I was introduced to network marketing.  I really liked the idea of growing a business that would in time supplement or even replace the income I was making so that I could start to enjoy my life.  I also liked the products that I was introduced to so I joined.  That particular company marketed blue-green algae. 

I was told that I should make a list of all my friends and family and, with the help of my sponsor, we would introduce the people on my list to the products and opportunity.

Well, like almost 98% of network marketers...I failed to make any real money and I quit.  However, I still liked the concept of network marketing.

A few years later I tried again after I was approached about yet another product and opportunity.  I used the same marketing techniques and got the same pitiful results.

This happened over and over again as I kept jumping around from one opportunity to the next. I even got more daring in my marketing as time went on.  I purchased Biz Opp leads, put ads in the newspaper and even did some local radio advertising.

I was fully committed to success and fully maxed out on a few credit cards.  After a while I realized that I needed help.  I was trained and educated to be an attorney.  I had gone to school and studied very hard then landed a job and worked even harder.  I attained success because I had mastered the skills needed to make a living in that industry.  However, I had no real training in what it would take to be successful in network marketing.

Then It Hit Me

I finally came to the realization that the problem with many in network marketing is that we want to make that elusive 6 figure income like most professionals do, yet we don't get the proper education to do it. 

So I embarked on reading every book and listening to every tape series I could find on network marketing.  What I learned was that most if not all of these resources simply regurgitated the kind of techniques that I had already learned from all the companies I had been involved with. 

What I found was a lot of information on how to make a list of your friends and family...you know... warm market marketing.  This was discouraging.  I had already tried that approach...several times in fact, and it didn't work for me.  There's only so many times you can go to a well before it dries up.  My warm market was bone dry.  My family and friends had gotten to the point where they didn't want to hear from me yet again about my latest products or sure-fire way to make 6 figures from home.

I eventually found mentors who were truly experts in the art and science of marketing and, better yet, were really good at teaching others how to replicate what they were doing and although I was skeptical about what they claimed they could teach me...I decided to follow their system.  What did I learn? 

I learned how to prospect like a pro so I could find a target market that already had an interest in my product.  I learned how to handle any objection so that I could close more sales, how to write ad copy that gets an awesome response, how to use the internet to generate my own leads, and how to create a presentation for any product, service or opportunity I wished to market.

Most Importantly...
I Learned How To Train Others To Do What I Had Learned To Do 

By applying the education and training I learned I am now working full time from home (and hanging out at the beach a lot).  My dream to finally build a home based business that works is now my reality.
